The Kid's Mother

Jess is finally moving out at the beginning of February. This is both a good and bad thing - good because housework will be a lot easier to keep up with, since it won't look like a pig farm moved in twenty minutes after I clean; bad because the financial end of things picks up. In the end, this needed to happen, and it probably should have happened a while ago.

Meanwhile, this means that custody of the twins needs to be figured out. As it stands presently, we're splitting them with us both having them for seven days out of fourteen. Unfortunately, although we have it figured out, Jess' new boyfriend seems to think he needs to inject his thoughts on the situation, even though he knows nothing about what is going on. Really get the feeling I'm not going to like this guy.

Now, this really is not meant as a rip job on Jess at all. She really means well; she just doesn't always get simple concepts that one would think that people should get. Her and I just are not compatible people, and now we'll have to figure out a way to co-exist for another 16 or so years.

In the end, hopefully she'll continue to be willing to work together to have things run smoothly with the twins. Don't really expect for that to happen, but you never know.

Ron Paul

At times, I wonder if Ron Paul is a prank that the Republican Party is playing on progressives and liberals. He says things that make a lot of sense, such as his desire to audit the Federal Reserve and to legalize marijuana, then he takes back off into the muddy skies of right wing conservatism just as he starts to draw people in. Yet, somehow, that all seems to be part of a master plan.

By stating that he wants to do the aforementioned items, he can gain a few people that may have otherwise voted for Obama or Ralph Nader. His racist newsletter posts, which have amazingly not harmed him at this point, appeal to the redneck southerners. Calling for a fence along the Mexican border appeals to the people that are just mindlessly nationalistic. And his 'honesty' allows him to tell the American public that he is just like them.

All in all, Ron Paul may have just enough appeal in the different segments of the population to actually win the Republican primaries and be their candidate for President in 2012. Basically, he is someone that can prey on the uninformed, or casually interested, voter. His apparent bright spots hide the dark underside that does nothing more than cover another completely insane corporate whore that the Republican Party loves to align themselves with.

Everything that benefits the American population as a whole will disappear under his rule. Kiss things like Social Security, MediCare, public schools, and the Pell grants goodbye. Why? Because they're the mechanisms of a 'socialist' agenda. After all, why provide anything for the people if they don't have to pay for it? America is about capitalism run amok, and Ron Paul just wants to further that.

Beware Ron Paul in 2012. He may seem like a good candidate, but is more dangerous than either Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann.

I have returned

So, thanks to Leah, I remembered that I have this thing. Completely forgot about it. Suppose I should update it every once in a while now.....

Anyway, expect to find me on here a bit more frequently, which will be whenever something occurs that makes me want to rant about it.

Note to self

When going to my 1.5 mile run, bring a water bottle. Hydrating is apparently needed.

Short story time

This is the first short story that I've written in about three years. Wrote it today at work and put the finishing touches on it while drinking a bottle of Smirnoff Watermelon vodka. Enjoy. Or don't.

The early morning sunlight filtered through the curtains. A beam of light snuck through, illuminating some loose strands of blond hair across her pillow. Her green eyes stared vacantly, gazing up at the ceiling hidden in the shadows.
He stood at the foot of the bed, watching her perfect form as she lay there. The sheets were pulled up to her head, covering the darkening bruises around her neck. As he stood there, he could hear a buzzing in his ears and a familiar tugging at his brain. At first, he ignored the sensation, hoping that it would go away. Instead, it grew more insistent, tugging harder at his mind. “No, no more,” he whispered, the sound stretching ominously across the silent room. He felt his body growing colder and colder as he stood there, entranced with the vision before him.
It felt as though he was watching himself as he grabbed her feet and dragged her from the bed. Picking her up, he deposited her gently into the bathtub. Giving her one last kiss on her smooth blue-black lips, he left the room, heading to the garage.
Returning, he grabbed her by the hair, yanking her head back. The saw dug into the damaged flesh, digging deeper with each stroke. Blood flowed from the wound, pooling beneath her before slowly running down the drain. Finally, it came free, and hung by her hair in his hand, swaying rapidly back and forth.
The blank eyes bored into his own as he stood there fascinated by them even now. Finally, the swaying stopped and he shook himself out of his reverie. He could still feel the tugging in his brain; it almost felt like it was begging him. Reluctantly, he forced himself to move, and went down to the basement. There, in a dark corner filled with cobwebs stood an old freezer. He opened it up, and tossed her inside. As he looked down, he saw the other ice covered faces staring back at him. Shuddering, he slammed the door and hurried back upstairs.
He no longer felt the tugging at his mind as he closed the cellar door. It likes it in the basement.

Lost in thought

I'm sitting at the computer listening to random music and drinking copious amounts of vodka when I came to the realization that I'm completely miserable with the present and forseeable future. As such, I know that things need to change, and probably in a hurry given some of my less endearing self-destructive tendencies. However, I've also come to the realization that there's a major problem with this. Namely, I really don't know where to begin, or even what it is that needs to change.

So, where do I go from here? Well, I can watch the MuCat fail epically at being feline and falling off a table, but that only killed about three seconds.

On a serious note, I figure that I should make a list of the things that bother me and go from there. However, I don't know if that will help, or just cause me further problems as I essentially jot down everything in my existance. So, how does one change everything? I'm guessing it involves stealing an identity.

And you want to do this why....?

Today, standing outside of the Tiverton RI post office, there were a few people hanging around holding up signs reading 'Impeach Obama'. They had a van with the same slogan painted on it, and a small table with some papers on it, like they were trying to start a petition for his removal. My question is, what exactly are they looking to impeach him for? Are these the same people that were content when Bush was taking a dump on the Constitution, ignoring civil liberties, stealing an election, starting a war to avenge his father, and caused all the same problems that Obama is trying to dig his way out of? News flash people: the damage Bush did is probably going to last through the next president's first term as well.

Given the hand he has been dealt, Obama hasn't done that badly. He is efforting at making it harder for banks to screw people, and to make it so that everyone has affordable health care (since the concept of not having to pay thousands of dollars because one is in the hospital for a couple hours is such a bad idea *note - sarcasm*). Things appear to be turning around, but it will take time. Regardless of whoever came in after Bush, they were destined to be regarded as a failure due to the long term damage he created.

And don't give me the line of "Obama's not an American - he's from Africa". Using my dubious network of sources, I found the alleged copy of the 'foreign' birth certificate that people claim to be Obama's. Below, I provide you the link. Just copy and paste.

Yeah, that's clear proof alright. Seems as if this was written by that moron Sarah Palin herself.

I realize that this is a bit of an esoteric topic for me to be writing about, but there is a reason for this. Inevitably, when I go to a beach that has a large amount of sand (as opposed to the rocky beaches that I like), I end up with a bunch of sand in my shoes. So, I keep dumping the sand out, but it always returns.

Why is this? Seriously, how often do you get sand in the shoes, then a week later there's another random pound of sand in them? Where does that sand come from? Does it multiply? Like, you have to vacuum your shoes or the sand will mulitply like rabbits on Viagra? What is the deal with that?

And how does it hide in the shoes? Where does it go? How does it get back in once the shoes are emptied? Is there some sort of hole in the space-time continuum where the sand hangs out with the missing left socks, Elvis, and my pens?

Eventually, I just give up, and throw the shoes out. They're pretty much done after that. And I'm willing to bet that the sand is still multiplying and expanding. It isn't cockroaches that are going to take over the world after nuclear winter - it's the freakin' sand.

There may be truth to the rumor that....

....Corey Haim died because he woke up and realized that he was, in fact, Corey Haim and felt that death was a better alternative to this existance. All I know is that somewhere, Molly Ringwald is sad.
